The Train

The hot humid air was difficult to breathe in, But she held on to her sleeping 3 year old, although she was gasping. The shadows at the back of the station scared her stiff, But she courageously stood & thought about the tiff. There was nowhere to go yet she waited on for a train Wanting to go far & never come back again Exhausted, she lay down on a chair, Woke up with a startle to feel the cool wind in her hair. He smiled down at her & held her on, And the little one stirred at the approaching train horn..

Using Psychology to Sell More?

“50 % off”- says a huge billboard on the Western Express Highway in Mumbai. Placed at an important & busy traffic light juncture, it definitely attracts innumerable eye balls in a day. I’m sure all of us at least once has responded to such an advertisement luring us to visit that store and make a purchase.

Dhoni: The Man of Steel

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, also known as M.S Dhoni is the current captain of the Indian Cricket team. a well known figure & the nation's heartthrob- everyone from a 2 year old cricket fan to octogenarians know him. He has led the Indian Cricket team to several victories- 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the CB Series of 2007–08, the 2010 Asia Cup, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Dhoni's been my favorite cricketer for years now (He's from Jharkhand too :) )& a huge source of inspiration.

My Favourite Things

"My Favorite Things", one of those songs, very dear to me! I can listen to it on loop for hours on end. This beautiful song is from the evergreen hit movie, Sound of Music (again my favorite. I've watched the movie about 60 times) and Julie Andrews is at her usual best.

Keep Calm & Love the Sea

The calm, deep blue waters of the sea have always mesmerized me. I remember those days in my childhood, during summer vacations to my grandparents' place in Mangalore (known for its pristine beaches), I would throw tantrums to be taken to the beach everyday! Making sand castles, collecting sea shells & drawing on wet sand is what I remember of those trips! The sea shells collected on those trips are still stored away in a safe corner. The sea has a calming effect on me. After a tough long day, a walk by Marine Drive or Haji Ali in Mumbai, works wonders.
