Repair it. Fixit.

Image
When was the last time you went for a check up? Doesn't your body give you signs that you need something ? And then one fine day, give way unless you take good care of it. It's the same case with the house you stay in. Any building needs constant maintenance what with the heavy rains, the constant direct sun and wear & tear. Externally, a building may look okay but internally be damaged. Old, dilapidated buildings are seen at every nook & corner in Mumbai. You'll find one on every street and there's alway s the horrifying news of a building collapsing . But even then, the repairs are always postponed. Building failures can be divided off into two broad groups of structural failures & application failures. Most of the building collapses are due to low quality of material used, inadequately trained manpower and inadequate supervision in constructing the multi storey structures so commonly seen. Structural audit is a must for every building. Most societies ...

Faster, Cleaner, Better: Leading the Change

IndiMeets are always fun! This one especially which was held last Saturday in Mumbai in association with Berger Paints. What got me all excited was the "colors" bit- it has been years that I got my hands dirty with paint and colors, and so I eagerly looked forward to the fun afternoon. It was lovely to see some familiar faces as I entered. The Inditeam, warm as ever assisted us with all the event details. After the registration and a delicious meal at the Taj Vivanta ,where the event was being held, we seated ourselves amidst a lot of chatter and infectious positive energy in the room.  "The Stage" The host for the event, Anoop, kept us all at the edge of our seats with fun exercises and some leg-pulling. We started with musical chairs (with a twist, of course!). After warming up to some "Dancing with the Chairs", and some rounds of introductions for the new and old Indibloggers, we were all geared up for more. Bloggers were being recognized ...

Tata Sky+ Transfer Launch Event

Image
I had a rejuvenating weekend after a long long time last week. On Saturday, met up with a good friend, gorged on delicious food & chilled.  With Sunday, came the launch event of Tata Sky, which happened to be my first Indiblogger event. The  Tata Sky+ Transfer set top box (STB) was launched, a new technology which allows you to record your favorite TV shows on your set top box & hand held device (Android 4.1.2 & above or IoS 6.0 & above) & watch it anytime anywhere via the new Tata Sky App. Now, isn't that awesome? What with busy schedules, TV viewing time is mostly late in the day or during the weekends, so why miss it each weekend or download it & encourage piracy..With this new set top box, which is a first of its kinds in India, you can view the shows offline as the recording will be done automatically on the smart phone or tablet via the set top box over a WiFi connection. The Tata Sky+ STB is available nationally & is priced a...

A Dream Come True :)

The past fortnight has been like a dream to me. First, I got an opportunity to meet Ranbir Kapoor & yesterday, I met Deepika Padukone. It was a launch of the Piku Melange collection. Piku is an upcoming movie starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan & Irfaan Khan in the lead roles. It revolves around the relationship between a father & daughter with Irfaan Khan playing Padukone's romantic interest.

I'm a huge RK fan. RK a.k.a Ranbir Kapoor, Bollywood's heart throb. He's a brilliant actor with chiseled looks. I got an opportunity to meet him & Anushka Sharma yesterday for a special preview of the song, Mohabbat Buri Bimaari from their upcoming movie, Bombay Velvet. A well known production house, organized the meet n greet contest exclusively for its fans. Bombay Velvet is releasing on the 15th of May worldwide & has Anushka & Ranbir as lead actors. I'm liking the music from the movie.  So, yesterday was a landmark day. Marked & highlighted in my calendar. :) Ranbir & Anushka were sweet & posed for photos with each of us who were there. Ranbir was his playful self. We were the so called "lucky fans" selected from all over India. Luck sure was smiling upon me! We were shown the preview song & later allowed to take pictures & autographs! Brilliant day! :) A well organized event! Ranbir & me

Being a "Secret Keeper"

Image
Star Movies is known to engage its audience with various contests & secret screenings since some time now. I was lucky to get invited to one of such secret screenings held at Mumbai yesterday-March 18. The buzz on Twitter was building up since the past few days. Tweeters were making estimated calculations to guess which movie would be showcased. I was excited out of my wits.
