Happiness

A cold winter evening,
Hot chocolate & marshmallows,
A good book,

Warm feet,
Happiness.

 Early mornings,
The soft chirp of a sparrow,
A new rose bloom,
The fragrance of lemon grass,
Hot tea.
Bliss

Smiles all around you,
A tear gleaming in the corners of your eyes,
Hard work pays.
Quiet joy.

 A call from your loved one,
Your pet waiting for you by the door as you enter,
Traveling into the wilderness,
A kiss under the stars,
Sea shells and star fish,
Making someone smile,
Dancing till your feet hurt,
Meeting a long lost buddy.

Happiness is simple.
Isn't it?

Her pleas for help had failed While the golden waves danced around her. Then all was quiet. Nights like these, She missed them. Wondering whether they did too.

She dreamed about it, day & night Knowing it was too good to be true.  Wanting for it to happen with all her might But being practical was her virtue. Some told her to pray, others to visualize Saying, work your way, don’t see left or right. Work she did, day & night, Her goal, though not in sight. One day, her dream stared her in the face She was too numb to react “Dreams do come true. I can’t believe it, “, she cried “Maybe, I was too afraid, I’d fail” she said & smiled.
