The Train

Using Psychology to Sell More?

“50 % off”- says a huge billboard on the Western Express Highway in Mumbai. Placed at an important & busy traffic light juncture, it definitely attracts innumerable eye balls in a day. I’m sure all of us at least once has responded to such an advertisement luring us to visit that store and make a purchase.

Dhoni: The Man of Steel

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, also known as M.S Dhoni is the current captain of the Indian Cricket team. a well known figure & the nation's heartthrob- everyone from a 2 year old cricket fan to octogenarians know him. He has led the Indian Cricket team to several victories- 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the CB Series of 2007–08, the 2010 Asia Cup, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Dhoni's been my favorite cricketer for years now (He's from Jharkhand too :) )& a huge source of inspiration.

My Favourite Things

"My Favorite Things", one of those songs, very dear to me! I can listen to it on loop for hours on end. This beautiful song is from the evergreen hit movie, Sound of Music (again my favorite. I've watched the movie about 60 times) and Julie Andrews is at her usual best.

Keep Calm & Love the Sea

The calm, deep blue waters of the sea have always mesmerized me.I remember those days in my childhood, during summer vacations to my grandparents' place in Mangalore (known for its pristine beaches), I would throw tantrums to be taken to the beach everyday! Making sand castles, collecting sea shells & drawing on wet sand is what I remember of those trips! The sea shells collected on those trips are still stored away in a safe corner. The sea has a calming effect on me. After a tough long day, a walk by Marine Drive or Haji Ali in Mumbai, works wonders.

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” -A.A.Milne,Winnie-the-PoohTaking things for granted is what we all are guilty of once in a while. We forget that if those very things were missing, life would be hellish. I get these sudden bouts of realization too when someone or an incident with a friend or acquaintance makes me aware of my actions. So, even if you have any 5 of the things listed below, you are definitely blessed.

Being a "Secret Keeper"

Star Movies is known to engage its audience with various contests & secret screenings since some time now. I was lucky to get invited to one of such secret screenings held at Mumbai yesterday-March 18. The buzz on Twitter was building up since the past few days. Tweeters were making estimated calculations to guess which movie would be showcased. I was excited out of my wits.
